Can You Accept God's Love?

The artist Henri captures a moment of tenderness. A little girl of four or five years sits on the floor holding her little doll. She has come down to the doll's level to care for her. Her right hand supports the doll's back while her left hand holds the feet on her lap. Her eyes look fixed and deeply into her doll's face.
"Dolly" is her young charge and she rises to the challenge. The doll is faceless with dull clothing. Does she even have hair? That is no consequence to our little mother. She loves her baby just as it is. No defect would cause her to toss "Dolly" aside. She is committed -- forever! Of course the doll has no idea of the love and care extended to it.
I believe this is a sweet picture of the love that our Heavenly Father has for us. He came down to our level through His Son coming to earth. Just as the doll has no idea of the love and care extended to it, so it is that many of us have no idea that we are the apple of God's eye. He has come down to our level to love and care for us. His eyes are fixed upon us.
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
